No movement in the number on the scale today, which is fine and expected. Another side effect/benefit I'm noticing for myself while doing the IF thing is I seem to be sleeping deeper. I still need to work on getting more sleep but the sleep I do get seems to be of better quality, more restful which I'm taking as a good thing. My energy level is very good through the day but I still want to be closer to an 1100 cal per day average with a 55% Fat/35% Protein/10% Carb (net carb) macro mix. Also just realized after about two months of being mindful of things again I'm closing in on being 50% of the way back to the point where things went off the rails 4 years ago and 33% of the way to my ultimate goal of 200.

Now time for coffee before first conference call of the day. Take care and have the best day you can everyone. Keep doing what you need to do to reach your own goals in all this.

Unexpectedly ate a bit off script today with a small bowl of home made fish and vegetable plus a wee dram of single malt courtesy of a friend. Still just a shade over 1000cals for the day. Even it was more that that, I'm not going to deny myself a touch of a good taste along with the company of a good friend. I'm not dieting. Dieting is all about (as I see things) denial and deprivation. I'm making full life style changes which allow 'off script' enjoyments, within the overall context of the change.

Well into the second week of IF and finding the 16:8 split fitting neatly into my life style. I'm thinking after 4 full weeks of this, I'm going to give OMAD a try for a couple of days if I can come up with a solid calorie dense midday meal(s) so I can consume 900-1000 cals without eating what is coming to feel like 'huge' meals.

Also a question.. considering IF and OMAD, is there any downside to mixing the two approaches through a week?

I hope everyone is enjoying a pleasant evening and of course sticking to your plans. :)

I little be more progress number wise. I find my scale is finicky and even the way I stand on it affects the reading. Seriously?!? It expects me to stand in some consistent manner when the braincell is slowly rebooting (waking up)? Geh! Technology!!!

However, progress is progress and it is nice to see that benchmark move. Going to take some time to see how other old clothes, I have not been able to wear, fit this weekend. There are 12 days until I officially turn 51 and it seems possible I may see 300 by that time. A helluva bday present to my self if it happens. Not going to force it though, just going to stick to the plan and what will be will be.

Braincell needs a caffine fix so off to make a cuppa before it shuts down again. Keep focused on the things that are important and I hope y'all have a good day.

Got home, knocked back my protein shake but too damn tired and grumpy to do the simple spinach salad I had planned. Still satisfied though. Not full but satisfied enough before the fasting window starts. Working to move most of my cal intake to midday (even if I'm wolfing is down at my desk in the short time between meetings) is going to turn out to be a good thing I think simply because days like today are really the norm. Moving most of my cal intake to midday means I wont be shorting myself too much if I'm just to tired to knock together something when I get home.

Hitting close to my macro targets for the month thus far. Carb are reflected to high I feel, my net carb percentage is roughly 1/3 of that since the vast majority of my carbs come from psyllium husk powder wish is a complete wash carb vs. fiber wise.

Going to enjoy a cigar and have some tea to wind down. Not as effective as a single malt but am saving that for the weekend. Stay strong and keep to your plans all. Hope everyone has a good evening

Yep… my scale is trolling me. Had readings ranging from 316.8 to 320 this morning, so going to keep 319 as my ‘official’ number for now. Where is the hologram technology that puts the display at eye level so I don’t have to look down over my belly? :D :D

A side effect of doing the IF thing is I’m getting into the habit of making ‘lunch’ for the day the evening before. While doing this I find myself eating more fish (tuna and salmon) simply because its easy and fast (just open a couple of cans) to knock out a meal that fits my calorie and macro targets. I’m slowly working on moving my ‘heavy’ meal to mid day since by the time I get home I’m beat and its so much easier to simply toss together my protein shake as soon as I get home. This is a BIG lifestyle change for me from choking down a ‘breakfast’ then not eating at all for the rest of the day until becoming bored and ravenous at 11pm before finally going to bed. I’m not trumpeting IF as a silver bullet but it is a tool that for me, seems to have exposed changes that needed to be made.

I guess the lesson in all this, is to always be reading about different strategies and be open to trying different approaches within the overall context of your plan. Never know when and where additional insight can be found.

Time for a quick coffee then into the chaos of the day. Have a good one all and keep your eye on your prize!
