Walked the same route (1 mile) I did yesterday. with my daughter and jamming to a new 'workout' mix I tossed together I walked it 5min faster than yesterday. Feeling really good about that.

On an ironic note. Since asking my question about IF a couple days ago, I’ve, inadvertently, fallen into a 16:8 flow. So I’m going to go with it for the upcoming workweek and see how it plays out. Commiting to 5 days, then evaluate if its something I want to continue to pursue at this point, considering most of my ‘eating window’ is consumed by meetings/writing (managing issues across 5 timezones means very very rarely breaking for lunch) and commute time home. At least it will make me look at HOW i manage the workday.

No calorie intake since 7pm yesterday.. Its now 11am so time to consume some fuel before getting on the road with the daughter.

When I was at my most fit stage in my adult life (that being the 19 years since my daughter was born) I was running ~3 miles a day M-F, 10 miles every saturday, with rest day on sunday. Today I took another step back to that with a 30min walk and I’m going to strive to repeat that daily until it becomes habit again. Not much, not far but it is still the another back in the direction I want to go.

A challenging food day ahead. Lunch plans with kids and my mother at a very good mexican restaurant. I’ve done some pre-planning and am confident that I will walk away with my eating plan reasonably intact (an order of chicken fajitas, eating just the chicken and some veggies plus a side of guacamole) and no break to my calorie limit or really depriving myself of anything I really enjoy. (expect for the chips… the oh so yummy deep fried tortilla chips).

Have a good day everyone. Stay focused on your goals but most importantly, enjoy yourself! Even if you over do it remember its only one day and enjoying life and the time with those around you is far more important.

Questions to those following an intermittent fasting plan...

Would a 12:12 scheme have any value from an IF perspective?

Would having coffee or tea with MCT oil or butter during the fasting window be considered breaking the fast?

Thank you for any information shared is greatly appreciated. I am considering adding IF as I component of my plan at sometime in the future. 16:8 doesn't really mesh with the chaos of my work world but a 12:12 would give an at least 30min window at the beginning and end of a day where chaos is the rule and I can actually eat enough and not be too far below my calorie ceiling too often (I may be already on the edge of not eating enough averaging a little under 1000 cals a day, especailly mon-fri so far.

As usual I babble on way too much. Thanks again all and happy Easter.
