21 April 2018

A bit hungry on an OMAD day this time (ate between 11am-12pm). Must either didn't quite get enough fats in the meal or I'm short on the water side of things. Both are possible. Not bad hungeries, just the type that say 'you could eat'. Did some walking today (didn't keep track of how much) while out shooting some test material for new digital photo development/editing software. Have the drive again to pick up the camera again and add new stuff to my amateur portfolio. Pretty pleased with the results considering I have not shot anything halfway seriously for about 4 year.

Put chicken thighs in the slow cooker today for tomorrow's meal. Set aside the remaining ‘broth’ to see how it might turn out. Going to make 3 egg, chicken, spinach and swiss omelette for my meal. Working to get extra calories on the weekend so on average I’m running closer to my ‘limit’ over a weeks time. I’m thinking my current average of 900 a day might be too low and is a contributing factor in my current loss plateau.

A good day all around. I hope everyone is enjoying the weekend in some way as well as taking steps closer to the goal.

Gooooooooood Morning FS Peoples!!!

Welp… weight is rock steady for 5 days so very clearly have plateaued. While frustrating, I’m not complaining one bit. In a little over 6 weeks I’m down somewhere a little north of 35 lbs, all of the symptoms of health issues I was fighting have disappeared or faded dramatically, I feel substantially better both physically and in terms of mental sharpness, and I’m wearing clothes I have not worn in about 2 years. Yes, I still have a long way to go, however nothing but positives as I close in on the 51 mark.

The is my second serious effort at becoming a smaller, leaner, large land mammal… and one could easily wallow in the failure I allowed about 4 years ago that caused me to gain back the 100 lbs I had lost. But, to borrow the words of Enzo Ferrari, “What is behind you doesn’t matter.” The only thing that is important is the way forward and what you do right now… many times right in this moment. Forgive yourself for the things past. Whether they are years, days, or minutes behind you… THEY ARE BEHIND YOU, SO NO LONGER MATTER.

It’s no easy thing to do but i can be done all. So starting today, just look ahead to where you want to be and do things that move you closer to that place. Even if its an inch at a time. And if you slip, fall, or otherwise deviate from that path… acknowledge it, own it, perhaps ask yourself ‘why’, then fuhgetaboutit! It’s now behind you and simply no longer matters.

Be good to yourselves… Be good to those around you… and enjoy the day!

Another long day done and the 2nd week of IF in the can. Just a tad hungry but to tired to make anything (as usual) but didn't want to leave the days consumption at the sub 600 cal level. So mixed up a protein shake with an egg and a tbsp of MCT oil (plus ginseng, psyllium husk powder for fiber and some ascorbic acid for vitamin C) for a total intake in the 950-1000 cal range for the day. Still a bit shy of my 2L water target but sill have the rest of the evening to get there.

I find I really like the feeling of the bod since changing how I eat, and especially after starting the IF thing. That feeling of satisfied without the ‘full’ feeling if that makes sense. In some ways feeling better now than I did when I was at 250ish before I let the wheels fall off a few years back. Bodes well for how I may feel as I get closer to that 250 mark again and beyond to my ultimate goal.

Back to OMAD for the weekend and pondering what I’m going to make for my meal tomorrow. Hamburger will be involved but not sure what else yet. :D

I hope everyone has a good and relaxing evening. The weekend is upon us! Let’s enjoy life while doing something to move closer to our goals!

20 April 2018

Happy Friday y’all! Was hoping to be taking a long weekend but seems the work life has other ideas (as usual) so a longer run of OMAD is out of the window. Oh well, day’s lunch is ready to go.. 1/4 head of cabbage sauteed with 3 tbsp of MCT oil mixed with a couple slices of 97% fat free smoked ham and seasoned with garlic, pepper, cilantro, and oregano. A bit of a challenge cooking and preparing a meal outside the eating window. So used to sampling the dish as I go :D I’m hoping i got the balance of flavors at least in the ballpark of expectations.

Trying to up my water intake. I have not been tracking that but I have the feeling I have not been getting enough. Also paying more attention to the amount of Vitamin C I get. Both of those seem to play a role in past success so giving them some focus now. I think I need to get back to the min 10k mg of C and 2 liters a water a day that I was doing before.

Time to dive into the trenches and push through another day. I hope everyone has a good day and remember, don’t get wrapped up in the small stuff like the number on the scale. Focus on your plan and your health. Be mindful of what you are doing by asking yourself, every time you go to eat something… “does this thing bring me a step closer to where I want to be in life?”
