Good to see the scale moving down, and so quickly at that! I'm feeling determined again to get my eating back where I want it to be. Even though I have eaten much less the past two days, I can make healthier choices going forward. Right now, I am proud that I have been able to stop grazing all day! Despite the craziness of the last week of school, I will make it to the gym this morning.

Happy Saturday!
This morning, I grudgingly got out of bed to join a friend at the first meeting of the run/walk club we have signed up for through the Y. I woke up with my allergies clogging up my head and didn't really want to get out from under the covers, but she was encouraging and I dragged myself up. We did three miles of a running & walking combination. My goal is to eventually do a 5K (the club has a list of several they are encouraging members to take part in), so I have made a start. The club has folks at all different levels from people just starting out to those training to run a marathon. The people were very friendly and I was glad I got out there.
We are hosting a party at our home tonight for about 40 people. My car was in the shop earlier this week, so I was able to get a lot of the prep work done early. Today, my main job seems to be making sure my kiddos do their assigned tasks to help get everything ready! My DH is smoking brisket, ribs, and veggies. We have not tried smoking veggies before, so hopefully those will turn out to be very tasty. I made a few desserts yesterday, as well as some dips. (I am doing my best to keep myself out of the hummus!) People are bringing dishes as well. I am going to do my best to enjoy the food without overdoing. I have been doing very well all week, staying under on calories, so I can balance out a little indulgence tonight.

Very encouraging number on the scale this morning! I have really turned my attitude around in the past several days and I have been taking such good care of myself, wondering why I ever let that slip. I feel like I am back in the zone. (My kids are less than thrilled as the "good" snacks (aka junk!) are disappearing and not being replaced. My daughter looked at what I had laid out for her lunch and went fishing around in the cabinets. She came up with a couple rolls of smarties and you would have thought she had hit the jackpot! :)
I got a good workout in at the gym and will be heading out for lunch shortly. I have to balance the rest of my day around my lunch date with friends, but I am feeling confident that it will all work out. I certainly don't want to interfere with the momentum I have got going right now!
