Welp... I guess I will add a journal entry.. Back in 2011 I was focused, worked hard to bring my wight down to nearly 250 from a starting point north of 350. I was a long road but I was doing it.

Then what can I say, shit happened and I fell off track BIG TIME. Stress, depression, blah blah ginger blah blah... all the excuses I could make for abandoning discipline and letting myself whale back up to north of 350... again.

Its gotta be said, body image issues affect EVERYONE, man and woman. I am a typical guy, ant talking about 'feelings' is not my strong suit to say the least.
But, gaining the weight back did a a number on my view of self. Although I never let it show in the surface it hammered my confidence, my sense of self worth, etc. etc.

So now its 2018, I'm closing in on 51, and I have managed to kick myself in the <bleep> and begin to make some life changes to get myself heading in a better direction again both mentally and physically.

Over the last 3.5 weeks I've got back to eating in a way that is better for me. I'm not keeping to any specific diet but am eating a very high protein/very low carb mix of foods and keeping to a 1800 cal per day limit consumption limit.

I weight for the first time in forever today and was at 350. Not what I hoped but not what I feared so I'm happy. My food intake mainly consists of Protein Shakes (Isopure Zero Carb), canned chicken, canned tuna, eggs, the occasional wendy's burger (patty only), and spinach/lettuce salads (when I have the time). I work 60-70+ hours a week so eating fast, on the run, is the norm.

I don't recommend what I'm doing to anyone but it works for me. In the last 3.5 weeks I have begun to feel much better, I have more energy, and most importantly my mind feels quicker and sharper, like a fog is lifting.

So why am I writing this? Simply to remind myself of where I was, and perhaps to remind others that it is never to late to pick yourself up and move forward again. No matter how far you feel you have fallen.
