For anyone doing low carb. Which do you find more helpful, 1.) staying below your carb goal or 2.) staying under your daily calorie intake?

I like the idea/concept behind this app, but does anything in it have accurate information?
I just entered my late lunch of tuna salad and cheese into it, from the search feature, and it states there’s something like 17g of carbs. Is it assuming I had it as a sandwich? Where did all these carbs come from. Checked the labels, tuna 0, mayo 0, pickle relish 0, cheese 0.
I know that under a certain amount of anything and it can be counted as 0, but any minute amount of carbs that could be in any, or all, of those items is NOT going to add up to 17g.
