06 August 2012

Did everyone have a great weekend? Mine consisted of the good, the bad, and the cute.

First- the good.

I ran both Saturday and Sunday! Saturday was only 2.5 miles and Sunday was 2.9 miles- and neither run was straight w/out walking breaks but I still got off my butt and ran so I am counting it!

Now- the bad.

I ate everything in site. I fell off the "eating healthy" wagon and did a few barrel rolls. Seriously- it was sad. But I am still fitting in all my clothes and I am starting over today so yeah.

And to wrap up- here is the cute:

I spent a good portion of this weekend, when I wasn't job hunting, laying on our bed in the sunshine, listening to Celtic music/Irish folk songs (I have unique and wide-ranging taste in music), the scentsy knock-off on (Plumaria on Saturday, Vanilla Bean on Sunday) and my latest crochet project spread out. Marlow loved it and usually curled up with me. By that I mean he laid on the blanket I am working on- LOL. What a goober.

Saturday night hubs and I threw back a few beers (I told you I feel off the wagon hard) and played Monopoly (oh yeah- we know how to party!!!) where I promptly whooped his butt and practically owned the whole board by the time we drug our butts to bed.

Sunday we went on a movie date to our local cheap-seats and saw Ted- soooooooo funny!!!!! Although I really hope Seth McFarland starts doing humor that won't get dated so quickly- I love his stuff but it ages so fast that I feel it loses "re-watch value" within a year or so.

I have no idea who that is but I need someone like that to follow me around and act like that when I am all like "a snickers bar would be fabulous right now...."

I'm suppose to say "no" to baked Doritos? What about cheese curds?

Bah.

At least I ran both days- that counts for a little right? right?

What I am happy for today:
- comfy maxi dresses (the laziest way to look good on a Monday)
- sunshine
- running (can't wait to go on another run tonight)
- funny puppies
- teaching my friend how to crochet
- and her adorable baby
- cheap theaters ($3.50 a ticket- heck yeah!)

03 August 2012

Ran 2 and a half miles Monday and Tuesday- but am feeling sore and exhausted so haven't ran since. One of the problems with not being able to sleep well is that your body can't repair itself like it's suppose to... annoying.

Also, I ate seconds of dinner last night. I can't remember the last time I had seconds for dinner. It was soup- and it was delish though.

Ham, broccoli, navy beans, red potatoes, heavy cream, butter, and chicken stock thrown in the crock pot before I left for work.

Hubs and I demolished the soup when it was done. The crock pot was half empty when we were finally done.

So yeah, so much for portion control.

Ah, maybe I will be brave enough to step on the scale again sometime soon.

Yeah, probably not. Whatever. I know this is just a slump but I just feel like it's just not worth it to count calories and stuff. At least I am still eating healthy-ish foods. Mainly my focus is on cutting out the processed stuff, which is always my downfall (hello baked Doritos and Cajun cheese curds)so at least I am not completely giving up.

Big Ang has a point there. LOL- there may be wine in my future.

Things I am happy about:
- sleep
- coffee
- the weekend
- my friends
- wine

01 August 2012

Ok, still stressed out. This is getting ridiculous.

Got the guts to step on the scale yesterday and it said 111.6 .... so I have lost a little, which is surprising since I have all but given up on tracking my calories. Although, I have been paying attention to portion control, and I have been making an effort to eat whole foods (i.e. rice, beans, potatoes, lean meats) rather than processed foods (i.e. chips, ice cream, etc) which not only saves us money but allows us to eat healthier by default.

I also went from not sleeping at all to sleeping non-stop, I hate how stress messes with your body!!!

Other than running (which I have FINALLY started doing again) I am crocheting to ease stress.

This is what I was working on (found the pattern via Pinterest)

But then I ran out of green yarn so instead of buying more yarn I used some yarn from a failed project that I already had laying around and started this afghan (which hubs is a HUGE fan of)

Of course I just realized that I have a baby blanket for a little nephew that is coming soon that I need to crank out, LOL

And I will post a picture of my new hair soon... perhaps this weekend?

Things I am grateful for:
- my marriage
- my stamina
- the puppy
- the ability to crochet afghans for my home
- coffee
- sleep
