For everyone that works full time and has small kids -- how do you find the time to exercise? I need tips because I have been really bad at working exercise into my schedule...I get home at 5 pm and there's barely enough time to make dinner, help with homework etc. before the kids go to bed at 8. Once they are in bed, I can't leave them alone to go out to the gym (husband gets home late). I have a treadmill at home but the noise will wake them up! I'm thinking basic workouts while I watch TV maybe? Are there any good sites that I can go to to get workout ideas from?

yes your right you dont have to go the gym to fit exercise in, try and walk instead of driving or in work take the stairs instead of elavator . when kids are in bed just fit in whatever you can i have been doing some exercise dvds then a few sit ups it doesnt seem much but it feels better than nothing. good luck

That's a hard one. The book has workout suggestions for each phase like jumping rope (maybe a little quieter). I say try to get it in whenever you can (even if broken up into 10 min segments). Maybe you can purchase some type of aerobics video. I wonder if an exercise bike is any quieter than a treadmill? I've been interested in getting one of those. I think we can all agree finding the time to exercise is quite a challenge. Don't worry before long you'll figure out what works for you.

I have to wait until my kids are in bed to work out. And I usually exercise in my bedroom, so I don't disturb the whole house. I live across the street from a nice park, so when it's warm I take the kids there after dinner. We ride our bikes or roller blade....that's actually more fun than doing aerobics in my bedroom. Can't wait til it's warm.

When I use to have to help my kids almost every nite w/hw; I would do what I could while exercising, like Spelling - I would give them their words while doing some floor exercises; try fitting the easier subjects in then. I also would fit some of their homework in while doing the dishes so I could give myself a little extra time to fit in some exercises. I hope this helps.... I know it's hard to do it, but I always said 5-10 minutes is better than nothing.....
