Lots of fresh shallots and parsley from the garden - yum!

Post Christmas and holiday gains. Started Sandra Cabot 15 day detox, on day 6. Not too bad. Eliminates sugar, dairy, gluten, red meat for a few weeks while having heaps of vegetables, nuts, seeds, fruit, legumes. Good to try some different recipes and have a short term plan to follow. I don't expect to lose alot of weight as they are quite large, nutrient dense meals, but I am glad to take some time to cut out treats and think about the health and variety of what I'm eating.

Not a great loss this week, but not a gain either so I'm happy with that. I knew it wouldn't be the best week as I've been eating a few things that weren't great choices. Still struggling with getting calories down - like if I eat an avocado and greek yoghurt in the same day plus a handful of unsalted nuts, I am stacking up the calories for when meal time comes around. I think some calorie sources are better than others though.

I've been having a fresh lemon juice in warm water every morning for the last week or so. I have a fatty liver and heard this can help. Not sure if it's true, but I figure the extra vit C would be good anyway for this time of year. Happy the scales are still going down as it's been a bit busier than usual and I have found in the past I'm not so conscious of what I'm consuming at times like this. Another full day + overnight, then I will try to get back into some mini hiit exercise. For the time being, reminding myself - no treats tonight!

I've got to get moving again as I've only been walking and not doing any other exercise. It's been cold and working sleepover + afternoon or full day's mean I only want to curl up with hot drinks and books during down time. I've been trying to walk with friends each time we get together rather then just sitting and chatting. I think that is helping. I'm still struggling getting the calorie intake down and am always going over, but at least being aware means I am reducing the overall amounts.
