I've been on this planet for 72 years and have been battling with taking up too much space for the last thirty.
I'm a widow living with my precious Ragdoll cat, Sadie, in a one-bedroom apartment.
Life is good. I'm enjoying having time and space for myself and I spend my days doing things I never had time for like painting and making dolls and crafty stuff.
I'm in pretty good health, and I'm grateful for that, but there's definitely room for improvement.

I maintained a healthy weight all for all of my life up until my mid forties, but when I gave up unhealthy habits (drinking and smoking) my weight skyrocketed into obesity and I've been trying to get it back down ever since.
Realistically I don't think I will ever manage to get back to a healthy BMI, but my goal is to be just "overweight". I've got to lose about 25 pounds to get there, but I need to break that down into baby steps so that I don't get discouraged. So, allowing 10 weeks to lose 5 pounds, here are the next five steps:

1. 189.4 by Oct 28, 2024
2. 184.4 by Jan 6, 2025
3. 179.4 by Mar 17, 2025
4. 174.4 by May 19, 2025
5. 169.4 by Jul 28, 2025

Sounds doable, right? But the biggest hurdle to me is the first one. I have yo-yoed between 195 to 200 ish for the last 8 years. Every time I get even close to 189 I self sabotage. I really need to find a way to break past that.
