I'm almost 56 years old, married, and soon to retire. My doctor---and now my dentist---have recently commented on my weight increase! (Yes, the clothes aren't fitting and I have no energy, but a girl can still be in denial.) According to the BMI and Weight Watcher guidelines I need to lose about 25 lbs. I don't exercise anymore, but I used to work out and enjoyed it when I was younger. I like to walk and garden, so I suppose I will start there. (Does shopping count?) My other favorite things to do: read, go to movies,---and bake. I collect cookbooks and enjoy baking anythng sweet. Maybe I chose to try to follow the South Beach because I'm a glutton for punishment...no pun intended.
