Ok, I've been going about this the wrong way. If my real end result is to be healthy, then I have to set smaller more attainable goals. Looking at a goal that is a good 150 lbs away feels exhausting. I need to start small to end big. Afterall, marathons are ran by the mile, not the race! Most healthcare experts and nutritionist claim that losing 10% of your body weight can significantly increase your health, so I'm going to start there with however long it takes me. That's my mile marker right now.
In this first goal, I am going to focus on the mental nutrition and making conscious decisions about what I choose to eat and when I am really full. This is a lifestyle change, so I need to reprogram myself to rethink my relationship with food, especially if I am going to need to teach my children healthy nutritional values later. The first step is mind over platter!
