I'm wondering if my increased discipline in getting to the gym is paying off in a bad way: my weight going up. Not by a lot but it's definitely NOT DROPPING! Hubby says muscle weights more than fat & that's the reason, and I'm probably "changing shape". I don't know but I don't like it.

Take your measurements, if you are not losing weight at the moment and gaining muscle you will probably be losing inches. And stick with it, the weight will come off.

Could be water retention from muscles repairing themselves. Drink plenty of water! Your hubby is being supportive but it actually takes a lot to build muscle. My ex was a body builder and had to really watch protein and water intake and lift serious weights. Hang in there - the weight will come off especially if you are eating well and watching the calories. You don't get a pass on eating just because you are at the gym. Good work getting to the gym!

Yes. Nutrition is super important. You can't work off a bad diet. Just don't give up. When I first started in the first three months I lost a total of 3 pounds. I wanted to give up, but I kept going and now I am so glad that I did. You can do it!

Google "why the scale lies" for insight in to water weight fluctuations. It explains about exercise and your muscles retaining water to help them heal with workouts.
