I leave tonight for a 4 day business trip. The trip itself doesn't worry me, but eating out every night does. I've been to this location several times in the past and know the hotel menu and surrounding restaurants really well. Unfortunately, it will either be fast food or one of the three Atkins friendly entrees on the restaurant menu. I can do it - I just don't want to limit myself :). I'll take some Atkins friendly snacks with me..that should help. Wish me luck.

You know the drill.Clear broth soups, salads, minus the croutons, lean meats, fish or chicken without any sauces or glazes and plenty of steamed vegetables. You'll do fine.

Good luck! Sometimes at hotel restaurants they are very accomodating. If you tell the chef you are on Atkins they sometimes will prepare something a little "off menu" for you.

Or tell them you have food alegries, Have a few nice but simple to make recipes on hand, find out where you are going, make a discret phone call ahead, with todays competion they will always oblige. we used do it for our customers and if they came in with other people, we just told them to ask for their special, it always worked and no1 took any notice. Wish you so much luck, stay focus

I used to travel a lot and I actually find staying in a hotel fairly easy. First, I do what Carmel8sons suggested - I find something "similar" on the menu and ask them to special make it for me prepared how I can have in, sans potatoes and extra veggies on the side. And remember, fast food can work, too. Get a good meaty burger with all the works on it (lettuce and tomato and pickles) and take it off the bun, add mustard or mayo if you like and cut it up and eat it. I do this once in awhile and I actually enjoy it. And most places offer a salad, too - Wendy's has fabulous ones, McDonalds aren't bad and many other chains have good salads, too. You are so right to prepare. Pack some nuts, some cheese sticks and some Atkins bars and you'll make it!! Good luck!!

You'll do great. Sounds like you have a solid beginning of an eating plan. And remember that restaurants want your business - so knock yourself out with custom ordering.
