Bibii1's Journal, 13 Sep 17

I start again today...
I've been dealing with depression and anxiety for a very long time. It got really bad in January and I've been trying to calm the chaos in my head down. The chaos is finally calm enough for me to focus on my physical health, alongside my mental health.
Today is day one of no bad carbs, no sugar.
That means no coffee. I hate the taste of coffee with stevia, monk fruit, etc. and I don't like my coffee black. What does this mean for my fellow coworkers and fiancé? I'm going to be one bitchy person for a few days lol.

Breakfast and lunch are going to be chicken buffalo deli meat and American cheese.

I got this.

P.S.
I haven't logged in here in a very long time. I'm going to hold myself accountable by doing this and sticking to it.

You can do it! That's what I'm doing... making myself log everything, whether it's good food or not. As for coffee, I brew coffee and add some Land O'Lakes Half & Half to tone down the bitterness but I don't like the stevia or "no sugar" liquid sweetner options. It's not great but you may keep trying... coffee has been an excellent appetite suppressant for me. Having this place for support is the only reason I'm still going (slowly) on the path to better health, away from the bad depression and eating-to-feel-happy mess I was in for years.

Have you tried bulletproof coffee? There are several recipes online. I usually make two shots of decaf espresso, 1 c. hot water, 1 tbsp coconut oil, and 1 tbsp butter. Put it all in a mixing carafe and use an immersion blender to mix it all well. The result is a lovely, frothy hot drink that tastes like a latte and doesn't require sweetener of any sort. It's what I've been drinking lately to ensure that I get a healthy fat quotient every day. Stuff is so good that I've given up sweetener and sugar altogether. Try it!

BiBii1 - Have you tried So Delicious CoCo Whip Coconut Milk Frozen Dessert Topping? A tablespoon or two into coffee is heavenly without the empty calories and carbs. It is found in the frozen food aisle - Stores like Albertson's, Safeway, Whole Foods, Town & country, Hy-Vee, Sprouts, Stop & Shop, Publix, Winn Dixie etc http://sodeliciousdairyfree.com/

BP coffee is the best for a good morning of productivity. I add a couple TBSP of collagen, because I'm a girl, and also because I have 40+ pounds still to lose, and Dave suggests you do it in those circumstances. Then I usually have late lunch, and early dinner to do a 20/4 intermittent fast. I feel better than I have in years.

I'd also like to add I have a physically demanding life, farm chores all morning, so if I've got the energy to haul hay bales around, my body does *not* need those carbs!

Caffeine tablets might help to taper off caffeine, rather than full cold turkey. :-) I can't bear the taste of stevia either, so I get that!

Thank you for the suggestions and sorry for the late reply. I haven't figured out how to get the notifications yet. I am just seeing the comments on my post now lol. I haven't tried bullet proof coffee yet or the other suggestions given. I will be experimenting soon. Thanks again for the support and suggestions.
