I've been stuck in a rut. A frozen burritos, Blue Bell, microwaveable, processed, pre-cooked rut. A few years ago I shed 80 pounds by nixing sugar and white flour Atkins-style, but I stopped being wary of my habits and the sweets sneaked back in to my diet. I knew it was happening and I didn't try to stop myself.
I just went grocery shopping for my first few weeks of following the South Beach diet (Phase 1). It felt good to fill the cart with fresh vegetables, herbs, meat, nuts and eggs. Real, whole foods. I know from experience that I can succeed if I plan ahead, so I am doing much planning. I start with eggs for breakfast tomorrow - I am going to be eating a LOT of eggs.
