"Today is the first day of the rest of my life." It's my birthday, and a financial "emergency" has taken all of any extra money I may have had. It's not possible to "diet" when you're broke. AND, I'm broke on my BIRTHDAY!
BUT, I'll look ahead, and see that there are better, brighter, days ahead. Yesterday, I was giving myself a peptalk ("Alright, Angela, it's time to do something different") and the thought popped into my head that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. I jumped up, ran out and bought a pretty little notebook, and wrote that quote at the top of the first page of the notebook. I went to my meeting this morning, and actively listened for new food ideas, and for new activity ideas, got some new pretty tasty sounding recipes, and I am looking forward to my 32nd year on this earth being pretty successful, whether measured by the scale, my bank balance, my grades, whatever measuring stick you put against me, will be surprisingly impressive. My "new (life) year" resolution is three-fold: Be better, Do better, Have better.
