Howdy, FS peeps! 🙋🏼♀️ I hope today has been spectacular in every way needed. 💚
Two week break from WOE finished, and a total of 4 pounds gained. That's not too bad. It was totally worth it! I had gotten a bad case of diet-burnout. The break has refreshed me, and I feel ready to get back to it. Being able to take a break when needed, not go crazy, and then get back to it, still amazes me. It's a testament to the changes I've made, and shows that they are sustainable, and therefore, something I can definitely live with for the rest of my life.
On the health front (or as I like to call it, my health-hostage situation... LOL 😄) :
The neurologist is very competent and really knows her stuff. So that's awesome!
She wants a better MRI of my head (the last one the magnet was too weak) and one of my neck, so as to rule out MS. I'm not looking forward to it because of my claustrophobia. Even with great drugs to chill me out, it's a horrific situation for me. I'd rather give a speech in front of the whole world than go through it again... literally....but there's nothing else for it but to put on big girl panties and do some adulting. 😁
I am starting a new medication that is a daily preventative to try and eliminate my daily headache and chronic migraines. Because I have only had about 4-5 days this year without a headache, and I get 2 or more migraines a week, there's no baseline to know if all the other symptoms are as a result of that or if it's a different medical issue. If we can mitigate the headache/migraine problem, then it might resolve the dizziness, nausea, cognitive issues, and extreme fatigue problems that make it impossible to function. If not, then it will help the neurologist to better understand the problem.
The way she was talking about it, it sounds like my brain is inflamed/worn out from a neverending headache, and therefore, my brain never gets a break to recover. The problems are a consequence of my brain constantly in a state of upheaval. And if that's the main source of the problems, then we should see an improvement in 3 weeks or so (just in time for the next semester to start).
I'm REALLY hopeful that the medicine will help eliminate the headache problem and the rest will fade away, and then I can get back to living again and the health-hostage situation will end. 😄 That would be awesome! 👍. It will take some time, I'm sure, but I'm hopeful.
I have faith that God will keep providing and leading us through this as He has the whole time at every turn. 💞
