Question for low carb exercisers: I've been doing lower carbs for about 3 days and my legs feel too weak today for my normal routine. Push through or rest?

Salt/electrolytes and rest. Carbs retain water, and water holds electrolytes. What's your mode of exercise, and how many carbs are you eating every day?

I normally do an hour on stationary bike followed by a little weight lifting. I try for a few times a week but have gone monday-wednesday this week My carbs are between 20-50 grams a day.

Definitely start with electrolytes. I will speak plainly, it will be hard to do anything beyond an hour walk/10 K steps keeping carbs that low. But try the electrolytes and see how you feel. Ultima hydrator is a good brand. Do 1-2 servings a day to start. Maybe start experimenting with carb cycling on days you want to exercise more intensely (bump carbs 60-100 with high quality, functional carbs). Be open to the process; if you are really committed to low-carb, understand it will be difficult to adapt.

@are1981 - Thanks for your suggestions. Definitely feeling better today after time spent hydrating. I'll keep carb cycling in mind for the future. It may be what I need to succeed!
