Week two, I lost two lbs this week, eliminated my two cans of beer at dinner starting last Thursday. I am trimming down my meal portions using a digital scale and reducing my sodium intake. My lower back is feeling better so I took a brisk morning walk and spent some time on the bike trainer without any discomfort. I find that the small changes you make add up to building a strong foundation for a healthy lifestyle.

Riding a bike is for everybody, young and old, low impact on your knees, and a fun way to get around. My advice is to go to a bike shop, get a bike new or used one that fits you. Go to a bike path or rail trail and give it a go. Stay off roads with cars in the beginning.

Eliminating that beer is huge…it was for me too. That’s like 200-300 calories…it means you lose a pound every two weeks or so just by cutting it out.

Yup. My drinking has become daily since the pandemic hit. With working from home, it seems the only thing separating work from play is alcohol. And my weight reflects the change in lifestyle for sure. up about 20 lbs over the past 18 months. Ditching the beer plus just a small amount of exercise is going to put you on the right path. Well done sir.

Good for you! My husband lost 40lbs during the covid shutdown, because he doesn't drink beer at home. He only drinks at the pub. Wow, what a difference! He is so pleased, that he now goes the pub only two night a week, and limits it to two pints. He is maintaining. Keep up the effort!
