I have not been doing well at all. I've had a lot of stress, between getting a new manager at work and having a death in the family, it's been really hard to even think about a diet. But, things have settled back down, so starting tomorrow (for the sake of record keeping, anyway), I'm starting up again. Unfortunately, I've gained some weight. Yeah. So. Gotta get back into the swing of things. I downloaded the app for my phone so I can enter in what I eat and the exercise I get wherever, so I'm hoping that will make it easier for me to stick with it.

I've been overweight most of my life. Most of the time it wasn't so bad that I was unhealthy, and I could still do most of the activities I was interested in. I didn't have high blood pressure, I didn't get winded when I walked up a hill or took the stairs, but in the last four or five years, I've gotten more overweight than I ever have been. I'm twenty eight. I'm too young for my mother to be trying to get me to have a stress test to find out if my heart is still healthy. I'm not happy with myself, and most of the time I feel tired and lethargic. I don't have the energy to do the things that I want to do. Most of the time, I don't have the energy to do the things I
need
to do. And now, the people around me, my friends and family are having children, a couple of them toddlers now, and I just can't keep up. I want to be able to do that. I want to be able to watch the kids and not have to sit down after playing with them for a few minutes. I want to be able to take the stairs and feel good, not like I can't breathe. My best friend and I started walking in a local park this morning, and when we were done, she told me about this website. So, with the support we will provide each other, and the support from our friends and family, we'll both be able to reach our goal weights and be more healthy and active women.
