Caught a stomach bug or got food poisoning and barely ate yesterday except for mostly crackers and ginger ale. Thankfully, I'm feeling better today, but I'm still eating (general brat diet) light for a sensitive stomach. But weighed myself this morning just out of curiosity, figuring I'd be a couple pounds less and was shocked to see that I'm 7lbs less! I imagine it's mostly water loss, but nevertheless, I'm going to use this as an opportunity to jump-start into eating lighter and achieving my weight-loss goals . Despite feeling miserable for this past day and a half from whatever this was, it's kind of nice to see the scale move down after months of it not budging no matter what I did. 🥲

So besides counting my calories I've also decided to incorporate intermittent fasting to help myself lose weight. I'm pre-menopausal and really struggling to lose any weight at all right now. But also my appetite is up and down and sometimes I feel like my stomach is a bottomless pit and like I could eat a horse! Which causes me to snack all day long. I try to buy healthy snacks and eat generally healthy overall but my weight doesn't budge. I lost 12 pounds last year counting my calories, but after catching Covid the first time last August I gradually gained it all back and a few pounds more and I haven't been able to be disciplined enough like before counting calories. So I'm hoping by incorporating intermittent fasting it'll help me establish discipline again. I'm starting out with the 14-10 fasting plan and a 1500 to 1600 calorie limit. I did good yesterday with my calories but frustrated with myself this morning. In my rush to get out the door I forgot and broke my fast about 20 minutes to soon. But I will persevere and keep trying. Also trying to walk 30 to 45 minutes every day and did that yesterday and today. So going to take one day at a time and keep going to reach my goal.
