My world right now is a bit crazy but probably not more so than most. I have decided that I want to retire sometime soon. @ 73 this year and the increasing frustrations with my job. I've decided that's my plan.
Much of the past 2 years have been getting ducks in a row to be able to do that. I have been looking for a retirement home to buy near my oldest daughter near Truman Lake here in MO. It's on edge of the Ozarks and a beautiful location. I have lots of friends in the area and about 1 hour south of Kanss City. I started hunting last July. Course the market is skinny and I had not found anything until Dec. A neighbor of my daughter called them about selling their place. 6 acres of woods, several buildings, including a small rustic cabin (no plumbing) and a single wide 2 bedroom trailer on it. I would build a small real house on it, probably keep the trailer as a guest house or maybe quilting studio. But the trailer is livable.
Was working on solidifying the sale when the husband hung himself the last week of Dec. Yikes!! so now after a bit of time we are working to get a contract signed within the next week or 2 with the spouse. She has some health issues, so the timing is ify.
I need to get myself back in shape, starting with walking more. I'm stuck at a computer and on the phone from 7 am until 5pm most days with little chance to move around. I am working on eating better with prep cooking on weekends as too mentally exhausted after work to cook. now to start tracking food again in the next week or two.
I did buy a weaving loom and am trying to learn to weave. Not active but calming. Have been doing some meditation most days which helps me sleep.

Day 2. Did my mile on lunch break, can feel it in my legs.
Still working from home. 10 hours or more work days lately. Totally brain dead by the end of my work day. I need to get energy back, too much sitting at a desk that's why I started with cardio.
Just a quick post tonight, tired as couldn't get to sleep last night until late.

WOW!! I have not been here since June!! I need to get back on track. Working on daily exercise as a start. Baby steps. 1 mile walk today.

Another week flew by. Still working on getting back on track. Managed to re- blow the cervical discs i blew a few years ago so exercise is mostly my prior PT regime that has helped me. Blew them trying to pull my tiller out of underlying mucky mud. Not much accomplished so going into the week behind. Such is my world right now.
I do have some polenta cooked and some beans. A good dinner- a buckwheat noodle dish witn an oriental peanut zucchini sauce.
I ordered some books on hydroponics to research some options for growing fresh veggies and herbs.

A simple yummy addition to salads and a good snack. Home cooked garbanzo beans (chick peas) equal parts vinegar and olive oil. I used my recent favorite plum vinegar. And some herbs fresh or dried- i used herbs de province. Toss them in a container, seal and let them marinate at least a day in the frig. You could use rinsed canned ones.
I ate too much for dinner again even though portioned. I need to do smaller amounts. It tasted delicious so kept eating beyond what i should have.
