I measured myself this morning and I've lost another inch off of waist and hips, for a total of 3 off of each. That's very encouraging. That's a dress size. And it hasn't even been a month yet. It will be 4 weeks on the 26th. That's pretty amazing.
I am so encouraged when I read about people who have been able to get off their insulin and all diabetes meds. I'm looking forward to that day. I'm still hovering right around 100 units of long acting insulin, total, per day and my oral hypoglycemic. That's down from 250 units plus 60 units of short acting insulin before meals.
So I'm sticking with induction phase. I don't really miss anything I'm not supposed to have. At least, not yet. As long as I can have my sugar free jello, I'm ok. lol

I'm finding that
averages
are important. If I go over a little on my RDI one day, as long as my overall average for the past few weeks hits under that RDI, the one day of having an extra pork chop isn't going to hurt me. Of course, I still have to stay under that carb count.
I'm still having trouble resisting getting on that scale every day. But I'm getting better. I'll keep working on it.

Saturday morning and all is well. My head feels better for the first time in a couple of days.
I fell asleep early last night and forgot to do my insulin shot and take my oral hypoglycemic until it was way too late to do an evening dose. To my surprise, my blood glucose was only 120 at 4 am and 115 at 6 am, when it was ok to do am meds. I went ahead with my regular morning dosing since I'm sure I still had residual insulin in my system that kept me from climbing too high.
I over ate my RDI yesterday by almost 100 calories. But I didn't eat anything not allowed on induction. Not gonna beat myself up about it. My son had told me he was bringing home fish to cook for dinner, and it turned out to be pork ribs instead. lol. I ate a bigger lunch than I would have had I known it would be pork rather than cod. But it's ok. I look at my average, and I'm under my RDI. I tend to be obsessive about this, but not that obsessive.

I've had a migraine since yesterday afternoon, so I'm not going to the gym this morning. It's ok. A day of rest won't impede progress and may even be good for me.
I was a little hungry this morning, so I had an extra egg. This diet is wonderful. I did have to adjust my insulin back up must a little. The post dinner readings are a little high. Not bad, and I am not treating this as a set back. This is just another adjustment.
Ya know, I used to love watching Rachel Ray. I've tried a lot of her recipes and they're awesome. Not very diet friendly, though. We can't all be tiny like her. lol. So I find new recipes here, and I make up my own.
Gonna take it easy today.
