After a couple of weeks it looks like dairy foods aren’t really an issue for me, but it’s so clear that I’ve been gluten intolerant for all my life. In younger days I would try to avoid bread because of carbs- but for the last couple of years I’ve been trying to eat a more balanced diet - bread isn’t inherently a bad food, but, Lo and behold, I can see that it actually was bad for me. I had genuinely thought that it was something psychological that was making me lose days at a time to exhaustion and cravings for high fat, high sugar foods. Turns out, that’s just what happens when I have gluten. It’s honestly kind of amazing, but this is the first time I’ve had 2 full weeks of normal energy levels in like, years. 😮 It’s really nice to finally have a bit of my old self back.

Losing 1.3 kg a Week

A week ago I stopped eating anything with gluten or dairy, because I wanted to see if it would help with my energy levels. I also increased the amount of red meat I’m eating so that I still get the nutrients I need. Wow, I gotta say I’m blown away by the change. I haven’t had a single day of brain fog all week, and all my cravings are reduced almost to zero. Oh, and a bonus is that because of the low cravings, my food bill is down by like a hundred dollars! 😮

Losing 0.5 kg a Week

Self improvement is an exponential growth curve- as I put in more effort I see more results, as I see more results my confidence grows, so with greater confidence I can put in more effort.
Today I’ve smashed out my first numerical goal, but I’ve been seeing other results for a month or so now. My skin is clearer, my sleep patterns are so much more stable, and my anxiety is far more manageable. I don’t get out of breath so easily. It’s nice to have a number on the scale as an indicator of what to aim for, but that’s just a part of it. Taking a moment to consider the whole picture, I’m just feeling really… relieved. I was kind of worried I would never be able to rebuild myself after all the years of sickness and painkillers. But today I finally have a solid hold on my situation and a tonne of positive results from my efforts. 👏👏👏 onward! 😆
