hmmmm big 'indulgence weekend' and to give a clue, Im hung over this morning so no diary entries for yesterday, fast day today and see what the scales say tomorrow. Headache pills anyone? My excuse was my father was diagnosed with stomach cancer on Friday, but how bad we wont know until March the 10th. So my brother's family and mine had my dad over for a barbeque yesterday and we had a really good time playing pool, eating and drinking well. My dad is 84, and pretty fit and healthy, so now we wait...........

I'm blessed to have three wonderful children grown up who are all doing well, have great partners and occasionally like to spend time with their parents. Yesterday was a fantastic day and a belated 'Fathers' day being spoilt by my kids, my son took me golfing in the morning, then two daughters took us out to lunch at the 'Left Bank' (great pub/restaurant on the Swan River in Freo). Didn't have breakfast, or dinner so the calories in a three course meal for lunch was pretty good and still managed a calorie deficit - this included the third course being Baskin and Robbins ice cream. Back in the saddle today and will do a weigh in tomorrow, which I think will still show a drop.......fingers crossed.

I think its really important to have a series of goals along the way, and to have a mini celebration when you achieve each one, so my last goal was 120Kg, when I got below that I set my next to get into the 116's, not a huge goal, but manageable and doable. big loss goals sometimes seems so far off it can be a bit disheartening. Seems like Ive been stuck in the 117s for ever - of course it hasn't been forever, but when you get close to a goal it seems to take sooooo long, but it also helps spur you on to get there. So today Im pleased to report Ive reached that next goal, 116.6 this morning (Valentines Day) which means since I started this journey on December 1st that's nearly 14 Kilos gone. Doesn't sound like much does it? until you think hmmmm that's 28 tubs of butter, then its like an OMG moment. So to my buddies early into their journey, or anyone reading these mindless rants who is starting out or early in their quest, set yourself some realistic, goals, I can promise you its a great feeling, and we need great feeling moments. So my reward? well as it happens Im taking the love of my life out tonight to see a huge stage production of a Queen (the band not the monarch) tribute - with over 50 musicians and singers on stage including a full orchestra, and a very romantic dinner. Then its onward and upward to the next goal - to get into the 112's. Happy Valentines day everyone.
