Yesterday, kept the calories low but at a more sustainable level (1300). Need to up water intake. Tomorrow, all the gyms reopen after the shutdown expires. I need to go in - even if it is only to stretch and roll. Now that I'm tracking again, I need to add three more tools to the arsenal: (1) drinking 100 oz of water daily; (2) going to the gym almost daily even if for a minimal workout; and (3) daily stretching and rolling. Between my age and how far I've fallen coming back is going to be painful -- and I mean real pain -- aching shoulders, sore back, creaky knees. I've got 8 1/2 months to drop, at least 50 and better yet 60+ pounds and put myself in a position to hit my goal - being fit enough to contemplate (and hopefully enter) the Marshman mini-Triathlon in September. When I was strong and fit, that was the one goal that I missed. If I can get myself in a position to even think about taking it on then I'll be a 1000% fitter than I am right now and on the road to making my late middle age years a whole lot more fun.

First day of the New Year - took my calories way down. Weather was awful, so I didn't go for a long walk. I'll have to get out there today.

Mid-December through today has been a disaster. Christmas and New Year's was wonderful, but time to get very serious. Gyms reopen Monday - time to start logging, drinking water and working out again.

Day 6
12/9/2020
Tracking calories well, staying on the low side around 1800ish/day. Fat/Protein/Carbs coming in roughly at a third each, so close to optimal.
Not drinking enough water or getting out to exercise. On Tuesday, knee was acting up. Yesterday, I was working late so just didn't pan out. Worked out with Beth today, mostly weights. Not a bad workout, but I came in just stiff because I spent most of the night on the sofa since I couldn't fall asleep and didn't want to wake up Nicole.
Need to make it a point to increase the water and get to the gym, at least, two of the next three days.
Weight down about 2 1/2 pounds this week - ok, but if I had made it to the gym I would have had a shot at 4.

Day 4
Not a bad day yesterday.
Ate properly but a little on the light side, water well below and I had a good workout.
Downside is that my left leg just below the knee is acting up. It's a weird injury, only hurts when I just start to lift the leg - not too painful but unusual so I don't know if it is something to be concerned about. I just need to be careful not to ignore warning signs which is something I've done before resulting in weeks lost.
Weight is starting to drift down, but it is still so high (up 11 since March, up 31 since Aug, 2019) -- that it is difficult to feel good about it. Need to go to the gym today, if only to stretch and roll so I keep getting back into the habit of going.
I'm worried about Nicole.
She's stressed out and half the time, I'm adding to her worries. She's under the gun at work, one of her best friends is dying and while I'm doing all the right things to build my own business, right now I'm not bringing in a dime.
Lots of outstanding possibilities, but they will take weeks or months to be finalized. I think 2021 is going to be a very good year for us $$, but right now she is just worried and with all the pressure that sometimes comes out as anger. I need to do everything that I can to take the load off her and when things get tense avoid using it as an excuse to pound a few thousand calories.
