This has to be one of the best emails I have received in a long time because when you sit and think about the meaning, it is so true.
One day I hopped in a taxi and we took off for the airport.
We were driving in the right lane when suddenly a black car jumped out of a
parking space right in front of us.
My taxi driver slammed on his brakes, skidded, and missed the other car by
just inches! The driver of the other car whipped his head around and started
yelling at us.
My taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy. And I mean, he was really
friendly.
So I asked, 'Why did you just do that? This guy almost ruined your car and
sent us to the hospital!'
This is when my taxi driver taught me what I now call, 'The Law of the
Garbage Truck.'
He explained that many people are like garbage trucks. They run around full
of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment.
As their garbage piles up, they need a place to dump it and sometimes
they'll dump it on you. Don't take it personally.
Just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on. Don't take their garbage and
spread it to other people at work, at home, or on the streets.
The bottom line is that successful people do not let garbage trucks take
over their day.
Life's too short to wake up in the morning with regrets,
so ... Love the people who treat you right.
Pray for the ones who don't.
Life is ten percent what you make it and ninety percent how you take it!
Have a garbage-free day!

Well, everything is going well with work and the issues of last week, but TOM is over and I still have not dropped anymore. I had more calories over the weekend while maintaining low carbs, I took a water pill, I've been exercising, my daily cal/carb is relatively low.... But I have to change something. I just don't know what. I've been fluctuating between 200 and 202.... DAMN! This is frustrating! I know, I know, I am not listening to my own advice. Weight comes off more slowly at this point and plateaus are needed. But I don't want to stay here! I might settle for 190 eventually, as long as I wind up a size 12... that won't be hideous... but I can't be done yet! I've got to figure out what I need to do to kick it back into gear!
Any suggestions?

Starting a whole new week with a positive attitude! Nothing but happy happy now!
I experimented a little with thanksgiving recipes. The creamy garlic mashed cauliflower was actually really good! I added some cheese to it just to solidify the texture. It was good alone or with turkey gravy!
I also tried making a sugar free cranberry sauce but that's going to need a little tweaking. Next is pumpkin in place of yams. Also going to try butternut squash. Pumpkin has like 1/6 the carbs of yams... and is really tasty too. I may have to try a sugar free, crustless pumkin pie. Ok, I guess that's actually pumpkin custard... but still.... nummie!

Feeling a bit better today. Helps that it's payday, I had choir last night and I saw 200 even this morning. I think I am going to go ahead and log my food over the weekend to make sure I am not going overboard... Keep myself on track. I haven't been logging on weekends to try to gain independence from actual "diet" in favor of "lifestyle". Gotta wean at some point. But I think going back and checking up on yourself is good too.
