Doing good. My oldest son got a job! He's a senior (I homeschool) and 18 years old. He has been applying for almost a year at different places. Toys R Us called and he starts Thursday. It's seasonal, but they only hire permanent positions from the seasonal workers, so maybe he'll get a perm. part-time job. Needs to save for a car and college. He can get his license if he gets a permanent position, so he can pay for insurance. Everything is so expensive, especially for males (and I have 3 boys!) I'm doing good watching my calories. Today is low carb, but I went a little higher than usual. Taking a fiber supplement as I noticed after entering my food that my fiber content is way low. That adds carbs to the total, I have fruit which adds carbs lol everything does. Not real worried about it, still staying low on calories (1200-1400).

It's Monday. Rainy and dreary here, but not excessively cold. Got our first fire going of the year. Got morning school done with the boys, went pretty well considering it's Monday lol. My oldest applied at Toys R Us last week, he's hoping to hear back from them this week with a job. Has applied at about 5-6 places. This will be seasonal, but at least he will get a job "under his belt". Did good this weekend on eating. I have to say low carb days are harder, just not a lot of choices. I hate to eat so much fat and most of the low carb stuff is high in fat. Don't want to just eat egg whites and chicken every other day. I love them, but it would get boring after a while, and this has to be a lifestyle change, not a diet. I'm not sure how many carbs are considered low. I notice I'm around 60-70g on low days and 170-190g on high. Hopefully this is good. Would have to buy Chris Powell's book to get all the info, and don't want to right now lol. I am forcing myself to eat 30 minutes after I get up, I remember that rule.

Wow, haven't been on for a long time. Decided it was time to really kick it in again. I haven't gained a thing!! But I am still stuck at 170 and would love, love, love to drop 15 more pounds. I watched the Dr. Oz show yesterday and it had Chris Powell (from Extreme body makeover) and he was talking about doing a high/low carb lifestyle. I don't do a particular "diet" just watch my calories, but that hasn't been working to lose any more weight. So I am going to try the high day, low day carbs. I love carbs so I knew I would never do an Atkins type thing, but this sounds very doable! I started today - low carb. Unfortunately I did not shop this past weekend to accommodate a low carb diet. No worries on the high carb days of course lol. So sticking with chicken and broccoli, or green beans for the next few low days. No biggy. The problem is I don't like any type of fish/seafood so my low carb days are limited. I don't want to way over-do the fat either... Will be a work in progress.
