TL,DR: I have decided to really commit to this app and make a serious change in my life. I need all the help I can get, so wish me Luck FS Friends!

I drank a whole lot each day and didn't hit the Gym or maintain running during quarantine. Lately I've been getting back to practicing healthier habits. Eventually, putting my long term health BEFORE immediate gratification will be my natural instinct and I won't have to consciously weigh decisions when presented with healthy and unhealthy alternatives.

Around March or April I was intermittent fasting and sticking to a 20:4 window for when I could eat. It was typically one large meal (or two medium sized meals) between 5pm and 9pm each day. I dropped from about 215 to around 193 (22 pound drop!) over about two months. Sadly, it is easy come/easy go. I had all 4 wisdom teeth removed at the same time a month ago, and the procedure was extremely invasive. There were a lot of problems and some nerve damage, so I was extremely limited in what I could eat and when. Within less than a month, I put so much of the weight back on due to an EasyMac/Applesauce/Mashed Potato diet. I shot back up to around 205.

Losing the weight was easy when fasting, but keeping it off is hard. I've found that staying within fasting windows is only helpful until you stop fasting. It's a short term solution to a long term goal. But I've learned a lot from it! Now I'm much more aware of what I'm eating, and when. I'm practicing portion control, only drinking on occasion, and barely going out to eat at restaurants. My roommates and I made an agreement to go 2 weeks without eating at restaurants or ordering take out. I went the full month, and decided to treat myself today!

This is my weight AFTER eating Bojangles for breakfast, lol. I typically weigh myself first thing each morning, but had a cheat meal. Today was my first time in over a month eating fast food and it was much more wonderful because I haven't done it so long. I think that if I wait even longer to eat it again, I'll enjoy it even more next time. I'm going to work really hard to not do it again unless it's the only option (i.e. a road trip), or at least a month has gone by and it is premeditated.

I'm finally starting to lose weight again, but I'm doing it in a much more difficult and dedicated way this time: Portion control. Discipline, willpower, and self awareness. I'm going to be patient and try my hardest. Wish me luck, FS friends. I wish you all the best on your quests for healthier lives!
