Well, like a bad case of acne…I am baaack! 10 weeks out from knee replacement surgery and I am feeling fabulous. I am happy with the little bit of weight I have gained since my goal was to simply maintain while recovering. I ate more processed frozen foods than I would have liked simply because I did not always have the energy to slice and dice. I can now cook from scratch again and return to my mostly vegetarian ways. Time to start tracking my food intake again. With a little focus, I should reach the famous “Onderland” around the end of January. I am up to 3-4 miles of walking per day with a goal of 6-7 miles by spring. Have started resistance exercises in addition to my rehab exercises. Will be done with rehab right before Christmas and then it will be all me to continue increasing the flex on my knee (105 degrees now). So glad to be back with this wonderful, quirky community. 🫶🫶🫶

2 Weeks Post TKR: weight is up 1.6 lb from last pre-surgery weigh-in. Pretty sure most, if not all is due to swelling. However the swelling is not nearly as bad as they told me it would be. I am attributing that to my high water intake.
Staples were removed yesterday. I am slightly over 90 degrees flexion but expect that to increase now that the staples are gone. Appetite is low but fresh vegetables are not very appealing to me unless they are in soup. Still drinking “Protini”s 3 times per day. Think it has really helped heal the bruising which is mostly gone.
Mostly eating peanut butter toast, fruit, pasta and chicken breasts, along with Skyr, sauerkraut and kombucha.
