So where do I start? I was always the "fat kid" in school throughout my elementary and middle school years. When I was 13, I hit approximately 230lbs all while standing at only 5'3/5'4. I used the Atkins diet (after watching my father lose 100lbs on it) and then just healthy eating to work my way down to approximately 145lbs, my lowest weight ever recorded. As I grew taller (I am now 5'9), I went up to 160 lbs, my most comfortable weight. Since my second year of college I slowly put on more and more weight until I ended up at 200lbs. Even though I am relatively tall, I'd still like to get back down to 160/170lbs by summer 2009.
I'm using Weight Watchers because, although I'm extremely impatient with weight loss, I've learned that if I diet too extremely I end up giving up. I need a diet that allows me to eat what I want, but takes portion size into account. This is what works for me. I find the point system less intimidating than calories for some strange reason. I guess it's psychological trickery?
