My name is Michael and I currently reside in Johnson City, TN after living in Orlando, FL for the last 3 1/2 years. I have been overweight for most of my life. I tried MEDI Weight-loss for a while, and while it worked exceptionally well when I stuck to it, I found myself having to decide to continue with them and possibly gain it back when I quit going to them, or going ahead and having the weight-loss surgery. I decided the weight-loss surgery offered the best long-term solution, so I opted to have a Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy this past Febuary 29th. I weighted 265 lbs. at my initial consult in January, and have dropped down to 302 so far. I did exceptionally well with the surgery, I must admit. My surgery was a Wednesday around noon and I drove myself home that Friday evening. Even the surgeon was suprised at my handling of the surgery and such quick recovery. I haven't started a consistent exercise yet, but since i contributed my voracious appetite and eating habits to my size, simply reducing the volume of what I eat now has caused the weight to drop off. I am extremely pleased with my results, and have been using this time to attempt to establish better eating habits while I lose weight. I will be turning 37 this weekend, and for the first time in my life, I feel that I have a viable plan to lose my excess weight and get to a "normal" size. I have dropped 65 lbs since my surgery a little over 2 months ago, but I "have miles to go before I sleep". A friend told me about this website, so I decided to join up to keep myself motivated. I am sure there is much more about me that you are just dying to know, but as of now, alas, this must suffice!
