It's been an interesting journey thus far. In the few years I lived in Cairo until early 2016, the scales went from 90+ kg to 118 kg. Lack of discipline on both food intake and exercise fronts did me in. In early 2017, while on a visit to a client site for an organization transformation program, it occurred to me that going beyond advising others I should put myself through some sort of 'transformation'. There's been no looking back since then.
With a combination of walking (an average of 6-8 km a session) and diet management - to the extent I can go, notwithstanding the vagaries of daily life - I've managed to shed an average of 2.5 kg per month.
I do two things religiously - (i) measure what I eat - that includes both sticking to calorie target and proportion of macronutrients, and (ii) walk 4-5 days a week. I've been battling hard to get the macro balance right. Keeping this discipline and momentum going in the coming months is going to be a huge challenge.
To all sweating it out there in the hope of gaining shape and seeing brighter days, best wishes and cheers!
