I have always been "heavy for my height", as my doctor calls it. Chubby cheeks, thick legs. Some kids in high school used to call me a Weeble-Wobble and that has stuck with me for a while.
When I went to College I drank my calories in beer, and promptly threw them up at the end of the night or with the next day's hangover. I also smoked like a chimney. I got down to an unhealthy thinness and, I must admit that, I relished every aspect of being that skinny.
Now I've gotten sober, quit smoking and aquired a real desk job and for the past few months have been packing on the pounds. Now I am back to my high school weight and its bringing back some terrible memories and thoughts of worthlessness. So, to combat this, and to prove that I am not a weight-gaining freak, I am taking some responsibilty in managing my wieght.
We'll see how it goes!
