5 foot two, eyes of blue, gutchie, gutchie, gutchie goo. If you're humming the tune you've just revealed that you're at least as old as me. The last time I was at goal weight was just before I started college at 38. (I'm a late bloomer). I gained more than the expected "Freshman 15" and kept gaining for 4 years. Then I moved to New Mexico from Wyoming - where my heart is - got a high-stress-sedentary job and have nearly doubled my weight. Now, I'm looking forward to retirement in about 5 years and have found myself concerned that my health might not hold out that long. I'd managed to avoid getting my cholesterol checked for several years but finally bit-the-bullet. My PCP was supportive, said it could be a lot worse, encouraged me to try to get things worked out with diet (yes, he's in favor of the Atkins program), increasing activity and Omega 3 supplements. I moved in with my Dad after Mom died 10 years ago. He had already lost 100 lbs in a year w/Atkins so I have built in support and participation so NO MORE EXCUSES! A High School reunion to look forward to next summer. If I fall off the wagon I hope someone kicks me in my more than ample behind. I hope I can make some acquaintances in the community.
