Oh my goodness. That was a trip that was equal parts disappointment and frustration. I won't get all whiny on you guys- but needless to say there was no exercising in our skeevy hotel room (I am not letting hubby book hotels on his own again) and there was no eating healthy. And there was alcohol.

Blech. I did not stick to healthy living- and the numbers show it.

But, I did get to see the Alanta zoo. It was hubby and mine birthdays (yeah, we share the same birthday) and I know that he has always wanted to go to the Alanta Zoo so I took him.

I loved it too- there were gorillas, and pandas, and giraffes and it was fabulous! That was the best part of the trip- mainly because we decided to give up on our last day and just enjoy ourselves so that the trip wouldn't be a total waste of time.

And then on our actual birthdays, a thunderstorm kept us laid up in a crummy airport for five hours. And then lighting hit the tar mat and held up our luggage for another 40 minutes once we finally did land.

Between delays, missing our shuttles, and other traveling pains- we were so happy to finally be home.

I was scared to step on the scale.. and for good reason. Yikes!!! Although yesterday morning the scale said 116, and this morning it said 113.2 so I am thinking that the weight is at least a little bit of bloat.

Today is a new day though. Actually yesterday was a new day and I ate healthy and ran 3.5 miles.. twice! Yup, I ran a total of 7 miles yesterday and my goodness it felt AMAZING!!! It felt wonderful to get out there and just run.

Have you heard the song "Fine by Me" that is by someone (I forget the name)? I am a tad obsessed with it being my current favorite running song.

Things I am happy about today:

- Having that trip behind me
- Coffee
- Running
- My puppy
- Crocheting (stress relief)
- Cake Boss (that show is hilarious!)
- My hubby

Don't beat yourself up too much about slacking while you were out of town. At least you walked around the zoo and didn't sit on yer ass the whole time. And you were healthy yesterday and ran. I am still determined to get to a mile by the end of the month! I am at .85 miles. I am also thankful for coffee - I drank two giant cups of Dunkin Donuts French Vanilla. I live by myself and I can't even imagine what it would be like to have a partner that won't drink the same coffee as you - but how many dudes would drink French Vanilla? What do you do? Do you and your husband drink the same kind of coffee? Do you switch off usage of the coffee maker so each can have their own favorite? Or do you have two coffee makers? How do you do it?

When we first met hubby didn't drink coffee. Every year, near the holidays there are some special creamers that are released and I adore them- so instead of drinking coffee black I would buy the creamers and enjoy it for a few months (from mid-November thru December is normally my non-black coffee kick). Last year he actually tried some coffee with creamer because he loved the way it smelled and now he drinks the Hazeltnut coffee that I drink, with creamer on a semi-regular basis. LOL. I do know couples that don't drink the same coffee- and normally they have two different crafts of coffee (one for each person). I can't believe how quickly you are improving with your running- I swear you will be up and past a mile in no time!!

I hope you can get the weight back down quickly. It probably is just some bloat, like you say! I like that "Fine by Me" song too! I don't crochet, but I knit. Are you on Ravelry? My username on there is biblioholic.

I just friended you on Ravelry! My username is KnittiChristi. I knit and crochet- although I have been doing much more on the crochet front lately.
