Two weeks ago I made the switch to the Atkins diet after six weeks of a stuck scale, and diligently recording everything I ate, gradually cutting out all refined carbs, and learning more and more about low carb diets, and why they are the way to go through Gary Taubes writing.
Well the scale has moved! I was not strictly following the induction diet when I started...some yogurt, and a tiny bit of fruit a few days a week, and some nuts. Then the rapid drop of five pounds shrunk to three. What!!! So I read up on the Atkins diet, and about five days ago, I went on a strict induction diet. Now I am down a full five pounds. :) It works.
I am also noticing less hip pain at night, and less pain in my knees. I think the link to carbohydrates and inflammation is spot on. I am noticing a big difference.
I have a long way to go to goal, so I will carry on with the induction diet for now....
