Whoa- I narrowly missed a diet disaster. I had a business book club meeting over a catered lunch- normally this is a salad or a soup/sandwich, so I can make it work ok. But yesterday it was a KFC-type meal! Broasted chicken - potatoes - gravy - coleslaw - bun. Normally I would have pigged out- especially because I have a thing for "free food," but I behaved and took off most of the skin, skipped the gravy, took a 1/3 cup of potatoes and coleslaw and ate half the bun. I think I escaped with a 16 point lunch, according to ww online. At home I had hummus and a 1/2 a wheat pita, so I only went over by a point- into my weekly flexies. Crisis averted for now! ha ha

Way to go! It's amazing how good we feel when we succeed in dealing with a difficult food situation. If you hadn't resisted and then eaten the whole thing you might have enjoyed it for a few minutes. But the enjoyment of your triumph keeps you pumped a lot longer!

Thanks for the support- you are right. I do feel better longer knowing I made the right choice vs. enjoying that chicken skin!

Good for you! You really practiced portion control and self control with your lunch yesterday. That is one of the hardest things for me to do. Good Luck-- you're on your way!
