Byrdface's Journal, 01 Apr 10

I put this skinny broad on here as my profile photo because they say that it will inspire me, but mostly, I resent her. What happened to those days when you could skip a couple meals and shed 5 lbs? Now, I work out, count my calories, pass on my fave foods, for what? To gain 2 lbs this week. Ugh. Feeling Defeated.

We all have those gains. you know if your on plan it must be water and will go away. You have lost 10 pounds since January. you are doing great! don't let a small hiccup in the scale derail all your efforts. Keep going!

Thank you Suzi! I know it is true, but it is good to hear! I just get discouraged when I see the scale numbers increase!

Yeah, she would piss me off too! :) I think it would be fun to have a very very large man w/ a beer belly and potato chip crumbs laying on his round belly, for an icon. Now THAT would be motivation! hee hee But seriously, in checking out your diet calendar, there are a lot of days where there is no exercise/activity recorded. You're fastidious about tracking food going in. But it doesn't matter how little food is going in, if you can't accurately compare it against calories being expended. Cause ultimately, you have burn more calories up, than you're taking in during the day. Have to have that "calorie deficit" in order for steady wt loss to occur. And if you are exercising, it could be that you're pleased w/ your efforts at exercise, and potentially overestimating how many calories you're truly burning in a day's time. Just a thought....but then again, I'm all about that numbers, that's what drives me. Good luck!

I have just recently added excercise to my diet regimin. I have been doing the elliptical (almost) every day and am trying to get in one other excercise, such as a bike ride, walk the dogs and I am going to dig out my old pilates dvds tonight!
