wassonc's Journal, 22 May 12

I ran 4.73 miles yesterday- and was able to run 2.5 miles without stopping to walk a for a few seconds! My average was 8 minutes 35 seconds per mile. I was grinning like a fool the entire time, I don't care how silly I looked to others who were running by me at the speed of light (perhaps a slight exaggeration) but this is the first time that I was able to run over a mile without needing to walk, let alone over two!

A little sore today, but not too bad. Did some stretching when I got up and that seems to have solved the soreness. I still have this head cold. This is the head cold that will not die!!! Ack!

Feeling quite bloated, but that is what happens.... darn men- I hope they know how easy they have it! Not only do they get to eat more, and naturally have more muscle mass but they don't have to deal with monthly water gain. Those jerks.

Ok, that's enough of that.

Things to be happy about today:
- I like my job
- I unexpectedly ran into a friend this morning
- Puppy was being a funny little goober this morning
- I am having a good hair day
- I am looking forward to running tonight
- Coffee, there is always coffee.

Have a fantastic day everyone
XOXOXO

As one of those jerks I have to say Good job. I wish I could run that far without stopping. I am 38 days smoke free but it will be a while before my lungs repair... +1 on coffee...

Your running really inspires me. It took me 3 months to be able to run half a mile, which is where I am right now. It's inspiring to see you on FatSecret - a lot of people think that people who aren't really heavy don't struggle with their weight, and we see your daily struggle with exercise and food choices - I can imagine losing those last ten pounds is just as difficult for you as losing ten pounds is for me at my point in my journey. I also love coffee - I just had some!

My lungs are feeling much better and I can make it 35 minutes on the eliptical without stopping. For me weight lifting is fun but Cardio always kicked my butt. Now I try to get 30+ minutes of cardio in every day to get rid of this stomach padding. I have to give it to the ladies on those machines though. You guys make is look easy while we are trying to look like it doesn't hurt but truth be told we hate those machines . LOL
