Woke up to a very nasty and dreary day. It's probably in the 50's, but the wind and rain make it feel a lot colder than it is. Ran my 8.0 miles on the treadmill at an easy 5.0 mph. That may be just a really fast walk for some people, but for me right now, it's plenty fast enough for my easy run at this distance. However, that does mean jogging for over an hour and a half straight - of all things, my butt cheeks are tender - and I'm not joking. :)

Went to church and then picked up DW's meds and some staples from WalMart before heading back to the house. Probably should have done some icing on my calves, knees and hamstrings, I was running late, and didn't. Will just have to wait and see whether I'm going to regret that or not. Although I helped load up a friend's truck, with stuff that he had been storing in my gym until he got a place, my plans for the remainder of this dreary Sunday consist of washing the dog and changing out the cat litter (well, somebody's got to do it).

Tomorrow is a rest day, but I will probably do a workout on the eliptical, just to keep limber. A few easy runs and a speed workout day planned for the week, culminating with a 9-mile run on Saturday. Can't afford to get to lax this week, and can't afford to overdue it either. 20 days till showtime!

Great workout. You deserve the rest day. Not sure about the elliptical. Rest days are rest days for a reason. What date is your event?

Yeah, Heather. The training schedule calls for a Rest/Cross-Train day, so I chose the eliptical. I try to reserve one complete day of rest - as far as exercise goes - per week. This time it was Saturday. Usually, I like to rest on Monday, following my long run, but I keep things kind of flexible, as long as I'm getting the right kind of workouts in.
