Ok. Well, this is about the millionth diet I've tried, but for some reason I'm still feeling hopeful that it will work this time. Over the past three years, I've gained about 50 pounds. I'm not actually sure why. It could be from the stress and sedentary lifestyle of law school. It could be a result of the antidepressants I started taking a few years ago. It could be from getting older. It could be from eating too much take out food. I seriously don't know and I think at this point I need to focus less on why this happened and more on how I can fix it.

I'm starting Phase 1 of Atkins today for the third time in the past year and a half. The first time, I quit after three days. The second time, I completed an entire week and lost a grand total of .6 pounds. You might wonder why I'm even bothering to try again. The truth is, my boyfriend did Atkins about 10 years ago and swears by its ability to help you lose weight. And I kinda like the diet. I didn't feel hungry, which is pretty important to me in choosing a diet. Also, I don't even know what else to try at this point, so I'm going with what I somewhat know.

I really hope I can learn enough about the diet and how it works so I can succeed this time around. Wish me luck.
