June already, WOW. The last couple weeks have been busy and the holiday included a day with family as my youngest grandson just turned 2.

I've been trying to eat on my plan, this week was harder since I didn't get any shopping or prep done last weekend. I did pick up a gryo one night at this little family owned Greek place, everything scratch made and so good. Weight is staying the same. I'm OK with that but would like just a few less; more concerned about being in good shape and the mid-section is flabbier than I would like ;).

Chicks arrived yesterday. Interesting as I was worried about them coming by mail. They are perky, started eating and drinking right away. They are so cute. I tried some photos last night but they are very red due to the heat lamp. I'm going to try to get some today out from under it, they seemed to really need the heat last night.

A busy weekend ahead: course the grass needs to be cut, so will get lots of steps in. Plan is to get the coop and run area leveled as it is on a slope, so lots of bags of dirt to haul, have the dirt sitting on my driveway, cut and paint the coop frame as I want to paint each piece before it is assembled with one coat in case we get rain while it is only partially completed outside. Hoping the chance of thunderstorms does not happen. I'll get a workout in just working outside.

It sounds like you are truly enjoying your little farm project. When I read your entries I think of that old saying, "I am woman, hear me roar." Thanks for keeping it interesting....

HI Gwen, how are you doing? Egull just posted the photos. Glen, is your DD still planning on chicks? Kathy, how are you? Didn't know you had chickens at some point.
