The morning air had a bite to it as I stepped out for my walk this morning. Silver frost clung to branches and my breath seemed to linger, forming little clouds that followed each of my steps. It felt good to be out. While I longed for the endorphin rush that my morning jog gives me I had to let me body rest and so I walked the entire way.

Alone with my thoughts, a little time to reflect. I am at the beginning of my third week (day 16) and I feel like I am settling down into a routine. I feel safe, like I am tucked into a little pocket where I know I can succeed. I have balance. I am beginning to understand how important routine is for me. I find that without it I let the excuses consume me and I give into temptation. The temptation to put work over my health and my family. The temptation to drink to escape the pressure of work and the guilt of knowing that I always put myself and my family last. The temptation to eat, to self destruct. The temptation to hold onto to my dysfunction.

I feel good. I know that if I can continue with this routine I will have balance and with it health. I have lost 6 pounds and I am expecting a small plateau. My weight loss is a byproduct of all my other successes. I have managed in this short time to achieve most of my daily goals of work, exercise and diet. I have also allowed myself to indulge in my 2 glasses of red wine each night and as the days pass by I am finding that they are not as important to me as they once were. Progress….


Todays Goals:
1. 30 minutes of exercise GOAL ACHIEVED
4. Eat only healthy foods GOAL ACHIEVED- I'M NOT COUNTING THE 2 BITES I TOOK OF BIRTHDAY CAKE.
5. Create a newborn album FAILED
6. drink 5 glasses of water GOAL ACOMPLISHED
7. Do not drink more that 14 ounces of wine GOAL ACOMPLISHED
8. record all food in my food journal GOAL ACOMPLISHED
9. Take a daily vitamin I CAN'T REMEMEBER IF I DID OR NOT
10. mail slideshow to client GOAL ACOMPLISHED
