I was encouraged by the slight dip in weight a couple of days ago; and then discouraged when it went back up, even though my calories have been close to the target range.

My view is that this is "for the long haul" - not some quick fix. I have to remind myself that this is not a "diet", but a change in lifestyle. Bad habits have taken awhile to develop; they won't be broken overnight. Consistency is more important than drastic changes.

The key will be my ability to exercise consistently. The only way to change my shape, is to change how I respond to life, really. I mean, it's not just "exercise more, eat less". Too many emotional triggers set me up for failure, so it's not just "eating less", but strengthening my emotional flexibility, as well as building up muscle & bone.
