This really is my fat secret. You'll probably think I'm weird. I'm switching things up here. I'm actually going to not do Atkins for a month. I'm going to do the HCG Diet for 2 months. Then, I'll probably have more weight to lose after that and I'll switch back to Atkins for the rest of the weight.

It really is my Fat Secret because I'm not telling anyone about it except on here at this point. I think people will prejudge and think I'm nuts.

My brother in law lost 50 pounds last fall. Then, my Mother-in-law went on this same diet and lost 20 pounds between Thanksgiving and Christmas. She went from 150 pounds down to 130 in that time. She said it was the easiest diet she ever did. My sister-in-law did this and went down 15 pounds. I don't know what she weighs now, but I'd guess she's at 125 or less.

It's the HCG diet. You take some drops of HCG each day. The amount is small. It's 125 IU's a day. That's an incredibly small amount for what the body naturally produces during pregnancy. The body normally produces tens of thousands of IU's of HCG during pregnancy. It peaks at 100,000 IU's. So, this 125 IU's a day doesn't hurt your body any or make any changes to you hormonally. It gives your body 1200 calories or so a day. Then, you eat 500 calories a day. You can have chicken, fish, or lean beef in the amount of 3 oz. twice a day. You also have 2 cups of certain vegetables on an approved list. Then you have an apple or an orange twice a day. You can also have 1 melba toast a day. You can drink all the water, tea, coffee you want. You're allowed 1 tbls of milk. You do this for 23 days. Then you go off the HCG and continue the diet for 3 days. Then you have two weeks of absolutely no sugar or starch, but you can eat anything else (sort of like Atkins). Then, there's another phase and I don't remember exactly how that goes. The diet HAS to be followed exactly. But, everyone I've ever seen on it. (3 I know personally), the rest online - say that you're really not hungry at all. That was the part I was most worried about after I checked things out and decided it was safe. Apparently, you're hungry the first three days, then, you really have to remind yourself to eat because you're just not hungry hardly at all.

So, I'll continue to post on here. But, I didn't want to mislead people that I'll be losing on Atkins. And they don't have a category for HCG Diet. I'm supposed to lose 1 pound a day except during my monthly cycle. We'll see. I start tomorrow. The first two days, I'm actually probably going to gain a pound or two as you have to eat a lot of fat the first two days. Then day three begins the 500 calorie thing. Sounds weird, but I've seen 3 people lose big quickly on it and have no bad side effects whatsoever. Wish me luck. :)

Good luck to you. Although, I have to say, it doesn't sound like an easy diet at all! It seems really complicated, but if you lose your desire to eat, I guess it helps!
