You should try it once on a day off.

You should try it! I started to ride my bike to work last year and really enjoy it. Took all the bike paths so I didn't have to go on the road but it was so nice to get out in the morning and made me feel energized. The weekend is a good way to see which paths to take and how long :P

Sounds like you have roughly 3-4 kilometers to work. 20-25 minutes rounded off. 40-45 min walking. If I walk my 4 km to work, I often take a bus home. If I have energy I might jog here and there. Walking burns more calories.

My 4 km bike to work is slightly up hill! Coming home it is about 15 minutes. Sometimes 10. Zoom.

Sorry, I should have said walking 40 minutes burns more calories than biking 20 minutes. Oh well, you should try it out. It is the terraine and traffic and trail conditions that will make the difference.
