Help! I need the advice of Atkins Vets! I took some blood tests and everything was fabulous (cholesterol, A1c, etc,) but my MICROALBUMIN,UR,QN, DETECTION was 38.2 and it is suppose to be =<20.0 mg/L. Is this the same as ketones? Is this normal on atkins? Is this an indication of kidney disease? I am freaking out! Thanks!

Don't worry if something is really wrong they'll let you know. I went into the ER a year ago and blood work was done, and I wasn't doing induction but they knew I was in ketosis. Call your on-call MD at your doctor's # for advice on the blood work so you won't worry all weekend. Best wishes

please go to www.atkins.com and post the question.
There is a licensed dietitian on the site that is qualified to address those kind of questions.

Did you call your on-call MD? If you are worried about it you should... What did your MD say about it? Just wondering, as I'm sure everyone else here is. A licensed dietitan may not be available until Monday morning on that site...

Healthyayo - Remember most of us are not medical doctors on here. There was one here last year I think, and she didn't give out such advice. I'm surprised your doctor didn't talk things over with you. Over the weekend call your on-call doctor if you can to clear up any confusion you may have. Lab results can mean different things for different people depending on their health situation and only a qualified doctor should give out lab result advice, not even a dietitian and certainly none of us here -- Be well
