I have stayed away from the Easter candy, although I faintly hear it calling my name.

Took the kids and a family friend for an Easter morning hike, slowly going almost five miles. Since I knew I wouldn't keep my usual pace, I loaded extra weight into my pack so I would have to work harder. It was a glorious day and we enjoyed be out in the beautiful world.

For about the last mile, we started talking about lunch and all the wonderful food we could eat. Since we had the dog with us, I suggested they drop me off at home so I could take care of the dog as well as get started on the stuff we are supposed to be bringing to a friend's for dinner. Even though I chose leftover lasagna from the freezer for lunch, I am sure that was better than the big burrito with extra sauce I had been daydreaming about on the way down the mountain!
